It’s like searching for a needle in a haystack, searching for the absolutely perfect men’s wedding ring is, if not impossible, at least a daunting task! One of the immediate issues one faces is that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. What may be exquisite and beautiful and the tungsten men wedding bands perfect choice for you might be the opposite for me. Another quandary is the price range – is it fair to choose the perfect wedding ring for men without concern for price…Can it be a $250 style and at the same time can this compete with one costing $100K? And finally, are we exploring looks, luster, finish, durability, shine, inlaid materials and stones, craftsmanship, attention to minute details (much less overall cost) and if so are these factors weighted? Meaning, does the craftsmanship count more than the luster or does the quality of the diamond count more than the durability? Whew…Too many questions.
Let’s begin with price. We are going to say that the perfect men’s wedding rings are going to cost less than a thousand dollars. That narrows the range and makes it such that the prize can’t be “bought for a price”!
Next, we are going to place a very high value on eye-catching appeal, luster and looks.
And finally, we are looking for lasting beauty and quality – something that might truly last a lifetime and more. Something that can someday be passed on the grandkids.
Here are some materials/styles to consider given the above criteria: gold, silver, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, ceramic and titanium.
We’re going to narrow this list to just 2: tungsten carbide and gold. Why? Because gold is as old and valued as time itself and tungsten carbide has proven to be the most sought-after, durable and fashionable ring of the 21st century.
I have seen gold rings tarnish, dent, lose luster and look very worn after only a few years – although they also last a long time and are known to increase in value over time. They are heirlooms in most societies.
On the other hand, are as durable as time itself and are known to possess qualities unique to its hard metal characteristics – they do not scratch, dent or fade and over time they look as new as the day you bought them. They are too new on the market to rate as far as value depreciation over time – who knows what they will be worth in 25 years? But again, that was not one of the criteria selected for this test.
